Living Life

So I've been a little absent around here lately. No reason in particular, just busy with life. Jackson is rocking third grade. He just got his report card and made all A's and B's. He's loving his gifted classes, and they are studying Japan this semester, and he is really enjoying it. Anderson is doing fantastic with his speech! The only thing that Jeremy and I notice is that he isn't saying his "c" or "k" sounds, and is instead using a "t" sound. So he'll ask for Toolaid to drink, want to help "took" with me in the kitchen, that kind of thing. Truth be told, I think it's precious, so I just soak it up. It's part of who he is at this stage, and I don't want to change a thing.

I've now been at my job for over a year now, and I think hands down it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am so very happy, and I love my coworkers. I'm working on tax returns right now that scared the daylights out of me last year, and I'm breezing through them. That alone makes me secure with how much I have learned over the last year. I still have my days where I don't know how to do stuff, but thankfully I work with some amazing people that are always willing and able to point me in the right direction. It has been a good, good year!

So hopefully I will be back tomorrow with new and exciting blog posts, because while this is new, it isn't very exciting. It's funny how life is like that sometimes, you know? Life is good, just rocking and rolling. Have a great day!

Happy Fall, Y'all!

I went with Anderson's preschool class last Friday to the local pumpkin patch. We had such a good time! We got to see tons of pumpkins, hear stories about pumpkins, take a hayride, see the cows in the pasture next door, eat cookies and juice, and Anderson's favorite part, pretend to drive a lawnmower. The kids couldn't have been better behaved, and it was such a wonderful morning. We even got to bring a small pumpkin home with us. Anderman is pretty proud of his little pumpkin, and is often reminding Jackson to keep his hands off of it! Enjoy the pics!

The Inaugural Rides

Mom, Jackson and I took our new kayaks out for our inaugural rides on Sunday afternoon and had a blast! Mom and I have the same kayak, and Anderson rode with me. He was so good! I was a little worried he would get squirmy, but he did great. He kept telling me, "Mama, I like your boat." Such a sweetie! We rode down the Autauga Creek to the dam pool, and then back to our drop off location. It took us about an hour because we kept stopping to take pictures. It's crazy how doing something like this gives you a completely new perspective of somewhere I have lived my whole life. The creek is very peaceful and there are so many beautiful things to see. Our favorite part was paddling through a swampy area because the Cyprus trees are so impressive. We had such a good time, and can't wait to get back out on the water again. Enjoy the pics!
